Kamala Harris and Donald Trump received three ballots each in the sparsely populated village in the northeastern state. For decades, polling began in this village at midnight hours before polling stations opened across the country.


According to New Hampshire election law, polls can open at midnight in precincts with fewer than 100 residents. All registered voters are closed after fulfilling their civic duties.


Dixville Notch residents all voted for then-Democratic candidate Joe Biden in 2020. In 1960, the tradition of midnight voting started in this village.
